FAN, always in the first flight, came to the outside of the leaders entering the stretch and wore down BAYDROP and BORDER KNIGHT in the drive. BORDER KNIGHT, rated behind the early pace, saved ground, moved up threateningly in the stretch, but could not withstand the bid of the winner. BAYDROP, away well, had good early speed to take command, but tired at the finish. BEAU GOVANS, forced to race slightly wide, came through between horses, but could not get up. LANGSTAFFE drew away in the first flight, quickly shook off SESAME, drew into a safe lead and was in hand at the finish. SESAME had good early speed, saved ground throughout, but was no match for the winner. BOBS FIRST, always a forward factor, held on well. FLY MISS, slow to find her best speed, closed well. DESWEEP tired. LITTLE CAESAR quit badly. DOTHAIR, fractious and breaking from outside the stalls, was rushed into a contending position and, rated behind the pace, gradually wore down POOP DECK in the stretch, but was kept under pressure to the finish. .SPARE TIME, under stout restraint for three-quarters, closed stoutly in the stretch. POOP DECK shook off MASONVILLE to take command on the back stretch, saved ground, but tired at the end. TREASURE SHIP, slow to find his best speed, made up some ground. EASTER HATTER, rated off the early pace, moved up fast on the turn, drew into a good lead in the stretch, but had to be shaken up to stall off AYMOND. The latter, under steadying restraint until turning into the stretch, responded well to punishment, came around the leaders and closing stoutly, was wearing down-the winner at the end. SIR MICHAEL, slow to find his speed, trailed the field for a half mile, but finished well. THERMAL had good speed for a half mile, then tired. YOUNG KITTY could not enter into contention. GEORGE DE MAR, -slow as usual in the early stages, gradually worked his way into contention, came around the outside of the leaders entering the stretch and wore them down in the drive. BOSCOBEL, well up from the start, came around the outside of the leaders in the stretch, but could not withstand the challenge of the winner. NOBLE SPIRIT had his usual early speed to set the pace, but quit under punishment. IDLE FLIRT was rated behind the pace of NOBLE SPIRIT, made a bold bid for supremacy, but flattened out.
