AT POST 3 minutes. Start good and slow. Won driving; third the same. VERMONT ROSE, off well, showed the most early speed and, saving ground throughout, held GLYNNA to a dead heat at the end. GLYNNA was forced to race rather wide, but came gamely in the middle of the track in the stretch to finish on equal terms with VERMONT ROSE. FANION was slow to get going, but closed much ground to finish fast. SALINAS was never far away. LOAFER was in close quarters while racing on the inside. FESTOON was done after making a brief move around the far turn. BARBARA LEE loomed up. dangerously on the outside in the stretch, then tired. SHES RIGHT, r.utrun a trifle in the early part, came fast in the middle of the track through the stretch to get to the front and won going away. KLISTER was well up from the start and raced strongly to the finish. RETURN CHECK was forced to travel wide, but showed a good effort by finishing gamely. PALA CHIEF overcame interference to stage a good finish. LYDIA BOSS had much early speed, but tired in the last sixteenth. OAKHAM passed to the front after leaving the back stretch, then quit badly. SPEEDY RETURN, well ridden, got through a narrow opening on the inside of CAN ELE after leaving the back stretch, opened up a good lead after turning for home, but had to be shaken up near the end to hold BOLAMOLA safe and just lasted to win. BOLAMOLA came fast in the middle of the track through the stretch and would have won in a few more strides. SUE GRAFTON saved ground in the stretch and was going strongly at the end. CAN ELE had the most early speed, but tired in the stretch run. CRYSTAL IMAGE was in close quarters around the first turn. CUMULATIVE was done after making a strong move around the far turn. EASTER TOMMY never threatened the leaders. TOO QUICK was shuffled back at the start. Overweight San Rafael, 2 pounds. FOURTH RACE 3-4 MIXE Out of Chute.
