SKY WIND raced to the front at once and, racing BOSWORTH into defeat while making the pace, drew out in the stretch to win easily. REBUTTAL raced wide on the stretch turn, but finished with courage. BOSWORTH was used up trying to keep pace with the winner and had. little left at the end. NASEBY closed ground from a rather slow start. CUYAMACA was close to the pace of SPEED HOME from the start and, although racmg a trifle Wide in the stretch, drew into a good lead and had enough left at the end to hold SEA CLIFF. The latter wa slow to get going, but closed very fast on the inside and was gaining. CRYSTAL PAN showed a good effort to make up ground and finished fast. SIR RIDGWAY raced with the leaders to the stretch, then dropped back. SPEED HOME tired badly. LADY BEWITHUS was in close quarters on the far turn and then dropped back. HALF TIME raced on practically even terms with TARPWOOD to the stretch, then went to the front on the outside to open up a good lead and was never in danger thereafter. EXCLAIM was outrun to the last quarter, then came fast in the middle of the track to best the others. DOLAWAY showed fair early speed and held on fairly well. TARPWOOD had the most early speed, but tired as if short in the stretch. DANKE SCHON was never a serious contender. FARQUHAR tired in the stretch. Overweight Dolaway, 2 pounds. GREEN FLAME, well rated in the early running, came very fast when called upon after entering the! stretch and, wearing down LEONIE and SIR MAXIM, won going away. LEONIE had speed, from the start and, forcing SIR MAXIM to set a fast pace, saved ground all the way and held on well. WHICHAWAY was permitted to drop too far out of it in the early part and closed with a belated rush. SIR MAXIM was used up racing with LEONIE in the early stages and tired near the end. The latter opened up a long lead while making the pace in the early part, but tired badly in the last eighth. TOROBANG made a strong move after leaving the back stretch, but faltered in the last sixteenth. ESCOLEE closed an immense gap. THRILLING and IMPERIAL BILL had early speed, but tired. NOVITO set the pace, but dropped back when the real racing began. BLACK MISS bore out on the first turn and was never prominent. ANIMATOR could not keep up and quit badly in the final quarter.
