ARLINGTON DOWNS FINAL DAY Trouper Equals One Mile and an Eighth Track Record in Win ¬ ning Spring Handicap ARLINGTON Texas May 1 Under the light impost of 100 pounds three of which were overweight Trouper furnished by Mrs C E Allen ran one mile and an eighth In the Fort Worth Spring Handicap in 150 which equaled the track record for a sur ¬ prise victory in the principal race of a nine race program offered as the closing fea ¬ ture of the Arlington Downs spring meeting this afternoon After the opening three sixteenths where Miss Premier showed the way the fouryearold Sunflag gelding set his own pace to reach the finish a length before C E Davispns Salaam which beat the fast finishing Seventh Heaven by a head for second secondA A neck separated Seventh Heaven and Old Jake for third with Ashen a 43 to 20 choice and the top weight of the field under 112 pounds next and then Miss Ginbar and Miss Premier to round out the small field of seven that strived for the 2000 purse which was worth 1450 to the winner
