SHIP STABLES TO LATONIA Interest in Covington Meeting In ¬ creasing as Time of Opening Ap ¬ proaches Books Issued LOUISVILLE Ky May 18 The condition book having made its appearance interest of horsemen in the Latonia spring meeting becomes more intense As a big majority of the trainers here are transferring their stables to the Covington track distribution of the first program book was an im ¬ portant step in the plans of those horsemen going to the Millsdale course courseMeanwhile Meanwhile additional owners and train ¬ ers formally filed stable registrations for the Covington meeting which opens a week from next Saturday and is to embrace thirtyseven days daysA A rough check revealed that more than 600 horses here and at Lexington are sched ¬ uled for racing there and with close to 200 racers already at the track the meeting should not want for racing material In ¬ cluded among the 800 or more horses to race there will be found probably more of the better grade performers than appeared at the Covington oval last season seasonThe The meeting will feature a number of stakes and handicaps of which the 15000 added Latonia Derby for threeyearolds is the richest and the most important Entries for the Derby and six other of the princi ¬ pal races closed last Monday and nomina ¬ tions to the Derby indicate a fine renewal of that old fixture on June 12
