gamely and was going gamely at the end GAYETTE broke slowly but closed with a rush through the stretch WITSON was restrained while holding to a forward position came through on the inside at the stretch turn and finished gamely JAMES RIVER made up some ground CRITICAL LADY stumbled leaving the stalls and was far back early She closed an immense gap and was traveling fast when too late
