f AMAQUA PURSE IS DIVIDED Drudgery and Biscayne Blue Take Divisions of Offday Feature Photograph Necessary to Split Biscayne BiscayneBlue Blue from Winning Chance Finish FinishThrills Thrills Big Crowd NEW YORK N T June 3 With no spe ¬ cial feature down for decision at Belmont Park today chief interest came in the run ¬ ning of the Tamaqua Purse for threeyear olds which was run in two divisions It was a six furlongs dash over the main course with the first division going to Drudgery from the Brookmeade Stable in a common gallop while the second division result was the big thrill of the day Biscayne Blue from the Bomar Stable just nosed out Robert L Gerrys Winning Chance It took a photograph to decide this finish finishThere There was a chill in the air and the skies were overcast but a big crowd was out and no rain came to mar the sport sportIn In the second division of the Tamaqua Winning Chance was the one to set the pace and until the stretch was reached he was clear of the others Biscayne Blue was rated along back of him by Sonny Work ¬ man and Idle Elf was not far back of the pair Beau Parade the favorite of the field was not as alert and was well back backWORKMAN WORKMAN OUTRIDES STOUT STOUTSwinging Swinging into the stretch Winning Chance was still showing the way but as he came into the straightaway Workman moved with Biscayne Blue and Stout went to the whip Winning Chance responded gamely and the pair raced lapped all through the final six teenth but Workman plainly outrode Stout and it was Biscayne Blues nose that showed in front at the end Three lengths back of the batting pair No Dice from the Silver State Stable took third from Rex Flag by a length lengthDrudgery Drudgery made a show of the field that opposed him in the first half of the Tamaqua Purse and simply romped along in front all the way to finish an easy winner in 111 111Sun Sun Chauer one of a pair that carried the silks of Willis Sharpe Kilmer took second place by a comfortable margin over Mrs Ethel D Jacobs Monument a former sta blemate of the winner which just got up in time to save third from Sun Fighter the companion of Sun Chaucer ChaucerWith With a short delay at the post the ten engaged left in good alignment and Longden had Drudgery away on his toes to at once send him into a clear lead When three lengths to the good he was taken in hand and he held his lead with ridiculous ease to cross the line the winner by six lengths and in hand handFAIR FAIR DEAL EASILY EASILYP P S P Randolphs Fair Deal showing vastly improved form over his previous ef ¬ fort was an easy winner of the opening mile and a sixteenth race for cheap ones Taking an early lead he was rushed right along to be home the winner by six lengths S Pisa canos Running Heel took second place and E K Brysons Sleuth closed a big gap to take third Both Running Heel and Sleuth came out of the race lame and Sleuth was in such shape that Richards dismounted from the old gelding and led him back to the scale scaleGalsac Galsac from the Greentree Stable was a comparatively easy winner of the short course steeplechase and he moved up some ¬ what when he took the measure of Gwladys Whitneys Rideaway with Robert E McCon nells Prattler taking third from F Ambrose Clarks Maiden Loughtrea and Barricade II was the only other starter starterMaiden Maiden juveniles of the plater variety went to the post for the four and a half furlongs of the third and it went to Mrs George D Wideners Happily when he led home Jacqueline M from the Woodvale Stable with Mrs Ethel D Jacobs Alarming a close third before Sweet Adelaide a Green tree Stable starter Wright had Happily away promptly from an inside stall and he domi ¬ nated all the running coming down the course straight and true and well over to the inside Whoa Boy held to second place in the early stages and Alarming was never worse than third Then in the final furlong Jacqueline M came into the contention and finished out going well to outgame Alarming and take the place by a head but Happily was safely over the line winner by a length and going away
