PARSCOUT RONS f 0 PROMISES Laboyteaux Miss Finally Shows Her Workout Speed in a Race Completes Double for George Odom by Sur ¬ prising Victory in Rose of Sharon Handicap HandicapNEW NEW YORK N T June 4 Parscout the threeyearold daughter of The Scout and Parco which races for W H Laboyteaux performed to the promise of her trials for the first time at Belmont Park today to be winner of the best race on the card the Rose of Sharon Handicap for fillies and mares She also gave George Odom a double In the previous race he had sent out the twoyearold Pasteurized to win over a band of maidens maidensIn In her winning effort Parscout led home Gold Seeker from the Foxcatcher Farm stable of William DuPont Jr and third fell to Herman Phillips Fair Stein the only other starter being Carvola Before the run ing Carvola and Fair Stein attracted the most attention and Parscout was the long shot quartetWith of the quartet With another day of ideal weather a big crowd was out and though the card was composed of overnight races excellent sport was furnished furnishedIn In the Rose of Sharon Handicap Par scout left the post fast and Nick Wall sent her right along until she had opened up a lead of four lengths There he took hold of her head and rating her along she held the others safe at all stages Carvola had left the post in a good position but as Parscout sprinted away Richards took a hold of her head and Fair Stein moved into second place while Gold Seeker which had acted badly at the post was last of the small field fieldWall Wall nursed Parscout along cleverly in her leading position but when the stretch was reached she was beginning to shorten stride and Fair Stein moved up in threatening fashion Carvola did not respond to the urg ¬ ing of Richards but Gold Seeker was gaining rapidly on the outside outsideIn In the final furlong Gold Seeker had the other two fillies beaten but she could not run down Parscout which was over the line winner by a neck Gold Seeker had beaten Fair Stein by three lengths and Carvola was andther four lengths away and soundly beaten beatenEdward Edward R Bradleys Buginarug came back with a good race in the mile of the West Hampton Handicap when under a welltimed ride by Johnny Longden she scored in a drive over J D Norris Danger Point with Mrs Ambrose Clarks Night Bud taking third from Advocator
