NEW YORK RACING ENDS TODAY Last Day of 169 Days of Continuous Sport Since April 16 Racing Secretary JohnB Campbell Arranges Arrangesa a Fitting Program for Au Rcvolr RcvolrCard Card Successful Year NEW YORK N Y Oct 28 With tho sport of tomorrow afternoon at the Hill Top course of the Empire City Racing Associa ¬ tion the long New York season comes to a conclusion With an opening at Jamaica April 16 there has been continuous sport with this final day completing a season of 169 days daysIt It has been a thoroughly successful racing year for each one of the associations and when all the returns are in it will be found there has como a general increase in rev ¬ enue over the returns of last year Each season since the passage of the Crawford Dunnigan laws has seen this steady growth in interest and the turf is more firmly es ¬ tablished in New York than at any time since the havoc that was wrought by the AgnewHart laws lawsFor For the last day of the season an excellent program has been prepared by John B Campbell and the special features are the Scarsdale Handicap a test of a mile and seventy yards for threeyearolds and up ¬ ward to which 5000 is added and the Au ¬ tumn Days Stakes a dash of five and three quarters furlongs of 2500 added which is confined to the juvenile fillies Each has attracted small but capable fields fieldsLIBERTY LIBERTY FLIGHT TOP WEIGHT WEIGHTT T P Morgans Liberty Flight the son of Liberty Limited and High Flight is top weight in the Scarsdale when asked to take up 120 pounds He is a gelding of undoubted class and on all he has shown he does not appear to be harshly treated at the weight AH of his recent moves have pronounced him ready and he showed a liking for the Hill Top course when he was winner of the New Rochelle Handicap This morning he was sent along for an easy seven furlongs in 132 as a final for the engagement Benjamin engagementBenjamin Deutchs good mare Roguish Girl is under a burden of 117 pounds and it is entirely possible she will be the choice of the five that have accepted the weights This daughter of Roguish Eye and Accel ¬ erate is surely one of the bargains of the year She was claimed for the Millsdale Stable by Deutch during the Saratoga Springs season for 3500 Since that claim her sensational victory in the Continental Handicap at Aqueduct won that purchase price back almost twice over Recent overRecent trials would indicate that Roguish Girl is at the top of her form the distance is to her liking and she need only come back to her race in the Continental to be a hard one to beat tomorrow afternoon
