GRAND SLAM TO STUD LEXINGTON Ky Oct 28 Grand Slam fiveyearold chestnut son of Chance Play Jeanne Bowdre by Luke McLuke is to begin his career as a stallion at Keeneland Stud next spring Grand Slam was bred by J O Keene and was foaled at Keeneland Stud He was sold as a yearling to Charles A Bohn and Peter A Markey and raced suc ¬ cessfully for the Bomar Stable Keene has purchased a half interest in Grand Slam and he will stand as the joint property of Keene and Bohn and Markey He is a half brother to Jean Valjean which has been premier sire at Keeneland Stud for several seasons
