BLUE FANG OUTRUNS SHAWANA Bischoff Youngster Half a Length to the Good at Finish River Downs Entertains One of the Largest LargestCrowds Crowds of Meeting Lovely Sister SisterAmong Among Winners CINCINNATI Ohio Oct 28 The fifth race offered at River Downs Friday after I noon which was named in honor of the New I York racing commissioner John Sloan proved j the best of seven events presented before one of the largest crowds of the current meeting In the fifth which was for twoyearolds and decided over the mile and forty yards yardsI distance Blue Fang was winner by a half I length Shawana was second and Imperial Ronie third thirdForm Form players had to wait until the fifth race before being awarded with a favorites victory Blue Fang was the first of the pub ¬ lics choices to score in an afternoon which major honors in a number of the events eventsBlue Blue Fang which was supplied by E A Bischoff was sent away from a good start by jockey A Fernandez In first position and then allowed to drop back off the early pace while Shawana sprinted into a slisht lead While Shawana dominated the early stages Blue Fang raced in second place After hav ¬ ing negotiated threequarters of the distance Fernandez urged Blue Fang forward and responding well the son of Kai Feng went to the front and stayed there to win easily easilyMOLBERT MOLBERT RIDES WELL WELLMrs Mrs M M Johrs Ottos Choice took down the winning honors in the opening event reaching the end of the six furlongs dash a neck before Lady Wauneka Don Gomez was third five lengths farther back Ottos Choice was hustled to the front soon after the start by apprentice J Molbert and he held the lead to the finish winning in easy fashionI fashion Davis Hill which races for Woodcock and King made every post a winning one in the second race coming to the finish a half length in front of Just High The latter staved off Goodandslicks belated bid by the small margin of a head Goodandslick which finished third was the favorite for the event Lovely Sister accounted for her second consecutive victory at the local course when the juvenile daughter of Peter Hastings proved easy best of eleven other youngsters which contested in the six furlongs third race Lovely Sisters winning margin was two lengths Second place went to Just Too Sweet which was a length before Nopalosa Porte the favorite The fourth race which was the first route affair of the afternoon saw Ring o Love easily account for that event with a two length advantage over Irish Play at the fin ¬ ish of the mile and forty yards William V the publics choice finished third a half length behind The winner came from far back to reach a contending position after the field had negotiated the first half mile and taking the lead on the far turn sped in advance of the others to the end
