yan to Bring Back Mares for Mating With Koontz Stallions at Mili ¬ tary Stock Farm LEXINGTON Ky Nov 4 Manager Charles Smith of F B Koontz Paulfred Farms left Keeneland for Tulsa Thursday morning with two yearling chestnut fillies which were purchased by Koontz at Saratoga In August and which were broken by C C Van Meter at Keeneland they being by Sickle Spun Gold by Golden Broom and by Eeigh Count Friendly Gal by Sir Gallahad H They will continue In their train Ing at Tulsa and probably will be raced next season by trainer Ross Higdon HigdonJohn John S Wiggins sent a couple of his men from Military Stock Farm Paris in the van along with the fillies to Tulsa and they will come back with two carloads of mares from Paulfred Farms which are to be mated with the Koontz stallions Sweeping Light Pairbypair and Shifting Sands II next sea ¬ son Wiggins ywill leave for Tulsa Friday to be present when the mares are put into the express cars for shipment Afterward he expects to spend a week seeing some of the breeding establishments including Val dina Farms in Texas
