SLAY BANDIT CHIEFTAINS MEXICO CITY, Mexico, Dec. 26 Smashing one of mid-western Mexicos most notorious rebel bandit gangs, federal troops today reported the slaying of four bandit jbhieftains and the dispersal of their followers in a spectacular gun battle. Losses of the federal troops were not specified, but it was learned that the fight was of scveial hours duration near Uruapan, a tourist resort in the state of Michoagan, the home state of President Cardenas. Bullet-shattered bodies of the slain leaders were hauled into Uruapan and placed on public exhibition in the village market place. Federal troops were continuing their pursuit of the bands scattered remnants, with government officials here expressing confidence that their capture was imminent because of their lack of arms and supplies and the deaths of their leaders. The band was reported to have been guilty of numerous murders, hold- i UP3 and other grimes of violence,
