VELVET MASK, away nicely, was hustled into the lead in the opening eighth, was Tated while saving ground and was lightly shaken up to withstand HAZEL NUT. The latter, away fast, followed in close attendance of the winner and held on courageously to the close. ESTHERS CHOICE was prominent from the beginning and came willingly in the closing drive. LADDIE STONE raced stoutly and continued with good courage in the closing test. BELIEVER was racing gamely in the final issue. BOGERTIN raced evenly. HUSTLE ALONG had no excuses. MOSTLY could not enter contention. STOP LIGHT was held safe. The others were not factors. . MIXED WEATHER was rushed off his feet to overhaul SPRING MOON and failed to stay with the winner in the final issue. CANDY HERQr weaved his way forward between horses and finished gamely. GURKHA, outrun early, finished willing in the late stages while saving ground. BARTERING KATE worked her way forward into a contending position, but was used up and tired. LITTLE TRAMP showed a good effort. SPRING MOON showed much speed for a half mile, then tired. BUDDIE TREACY broke slower than usual. PLAY BY PLAY also broke sluggishly. LADY ORCHID had a rough trip in the opening eighth. The latter rated off the early pace, responded when placed to a drive and finished stoutly. SPEEDY BOOGER forced to race on theoutsido from the start, in the final came strongly test. PADDY set a fast pace, but was used up racing LEARNER into submission. MORDECAI was going resolutely in the late stages. MUCHO GUSTO performed far below his true form and did not appear ready for his best race. He can do a great deal better. HER REIGH was never a threat after the first five-eighths. HI-TIDE raced in spots while lacking racing room and was interferred with by the riderless BACKINTIME. GRACE GRIER raced nicely all the way. TUT TUT closed gamely from a slow beginning.
