CIO APPLIES PRESSURE DETROIT Mich July 8 The CIO Auto ¬ mobile Workers Union slow pressure strike today was deemed partly successful when the General Motors Corporation admitted the walkout of 6611 tool and die workers threat ¬ ened definitely to delay production of 1940 models Since Wednesday the CIO Union began applying slow pressure to force the company to negotiate a supplemental agree ¬ ment to the existing contract covering tool die maintenance and engineering worlcers The company refused steadily to negotiate with the CIO or AFL Unions holding it can ¬ not negotiate with either until the jurisdic tional dispute between the two warring fac ¬ tions is settled
