TAX LEGISLATION DOOMED WASHINGTON D C July 8 Further tax legislation during the present session of Congress today appeared doomed by the de ¬ cision of congressional leaders to have the House Ways and Means tax subcommittee launch a recess study of taxes with a view of presenting a new tax bill next January President Roosevelts proposal for taxation of taxexempt securities as well as his re ¬ quest for 250000000 tax to cover farm parity payments voted by Congress were slated for the legislative ash heap Opposi ¬ tion to the proposal to abolish taxexempt bonds of federal state and local govern ¬ ments has become so vigorous that some members of Congress believe it will be aban ¬ doned permanently
