JUDGE MURPHY RETURNS RETURNSFROM FROM CALIFORNIA VISIT Joseph A Murphy eminent turf official and formerly general manager of Haw ¬ thorne in which he still has an interest re ¬ turned yesterday from the West Coast where he went on business He was in Cali ¬ fornia for a week and found time to visit Hollywood Park which he found to be one of the finest racing plants in the country countryWith With Mrs Murphy he will remain here for an indefinite time working with Charles Krutckoff president of the Chicago Busi ¬ ness Mens Racing Association on prepara ¬ tions for the Hawthorne meeting of thirty xlays which follows the Washington Park season He has been interested in that track since the revival of racing there a connec ¬ tion that started several years before the nactment of the Lager bill under which rac ¬ ing with parimutuel betting is conducted in this state
