THISTLE DOWNS OPEN HOUSE HOUSEBig Big Crowd Visits Cleveland Track to toInspect Inspect Improvements Meeting MeetingBegins Begins Next Saturday CLEVELAND Ohio July 10 A big crowd was present at Thistle Down Park yesterday for open house day The weather was ideal for the occasion and many of the visitors expressed themselves as being very well pleased with the improvements made to the plant since last year Thistle Down opens its meeting Saturday July 15 15Harry Harry S Allshouse president of the This ¬ tle Down Racing Association Edward P Strong general manager and George Lewis manager of the parimutuels department were on hand to greet the visitors visitorsMANY MANY ARRIVALS ARRIVALSDuring During the past two days there have been many stables arriving at the track and from now until the opening there will be a steady stream of vans and express cars arriving here loaded with thoroughbreds thoroughbredsWord Word was received that Hayden Dupuy leading apprentice of the Detroit season will be here for the entire meeting and in the event the boy keeps up his fine record he probably will be the leading reinsman of the local season Should he be so successful he will be pressing the leading riders of Amer ¬ ica for honors when the season terminates here Monday September 4 4Nominations Nominations for the Inaugural Handicap carrying 2500 in added money and to be run over six furlongs close tomorrow night It is open to threeyearolds and upward and will be the first of nine stakes to be offered during the eight weeks of racing
