GLORIOUS TIME WINS STAKE Buckley Colorbearer Defeats Crack Band at Rockingham Park Third Consecutive Triumph for Game Filly Fillyby by Grand Time Favorites Run Runto to Expectations 1 SALEM N H July 26 Once more con ¬ vincingskeptics that she was a swift and game bit of horse flesh Mrs D A Buck ¬ leys Glorious Time won the Salem Stakes for 2500 added for twoyearold fillies this afternoon before about 1000 enthusiasts enthusiastsGlorious Glorious Time chestnut daughter of Grand Time Feathers scored her third consecu ¬ tive triumph as she won the 2265 net money from a field of rivals with George j I D Wideners Thorn Apple second and Louis B Mayers Flying Mary third while W S Kilmexs Sun Patty which received a going over during the early running finished a strong fourth fourthAs As the fillies went to the post in this fifth race the main question seemed to be whether Glorious Time or Mrs Clyde Phil ¬ lips Only Girl was the better The Phillips protege had been doing very well for her ¬ self but she had no excuses today as she finished down the track trackWhen When the juveniles left the gate in this five furlongs brush Glorious Time and Only Girl were out in front In fact Only Girl took the lead briefly but Glorious Time came right back at her and after the first quarter the Phillips filly was all done In fact it looked like a cinch for Glorious Time and while she could not exactly ease up she still wasnt really challenged in the final threeeighths threeeighthsTHOEN THOEN APPLE THREATENS For a time however Thorn Apple threat ¬ ened to make a move but the Widener miss lacked enough while Flying Mary which had been impeded in the early running was in stride again and really running As for Sun Patty she caught it about the same time that More Days and L J Marks pro ¬ tege did but Sun Patty recovered a bit while the other never did have another chance chanceAs As the result of the victory four favorites won in the first five races so the form players were enjoying themselves With Alfred Gwynne Vanderbilt chief of Pimlico on hand to see the races especially the fifth in which his Balko filly Paradise Girl was running the day started off in f ormful fashion Mrs William Hodsons Fur fiber winning the opening event at one mile The sevenyearold bay gelded son of Car laris stayed off the pace but charged in the stretch and won in handy fashion with Wf i Kirkleys French Trap second and Mrs O B Wearlcys Candle Ends third thirdThe The second favorite of the day Mrs Emil Denemarks Philosopher won in the second race to make the Daily Double worth 2340 The winner however was benefited by the better ride as Johnny Adams outrode Chuck Charlton on Mrs H W Jacksons Bright View with George D Wideners Anne Odette third CAMPBELL TRIUMPH Harvey L Campbell sent out his own silks for the first time in a year and they were borne to victory by the third favorite in as many races the victor being Sugarage the threeyearold chestnut daughter of Per ¬ centage Sugar Bird Sugarage was given i a powerful ride by jockey Charlton to win the six furlongs dash from Mrs T Heard Jrs Modest Queen with S Ferranti Jrs Flag Orland third The favorite not only was bea en but fin ¬ ished out of the money in the fourth race as W E Johnsons Robespierre charged ini the final threeeighths to win from Mrs Ed I McCuans Hasty Star with Fanfare Farms Hazel F third Grisette the oddson choice was fourth Hasty Star went to the front in this race with Hazel F second and Grisette in a spot to improve her position in this six furlongs dash Robespierre was in stride early and went by horses to be in a chal ¬ lenging position as Hasty Star led into the1 stretch There soon was no doubt as to the outcome although Robespierre was ridden out to score the win at better than 6 to 1 odds
