SEVEN PRISONERS ESCAPE WASHINGTON D C July 26 Seven fed ¬ eral prisoners today escaped from a prison bus after assaulting the driver while being transported from Atlanta to Lewisburg Pa penitentiary Advices received by the jus ¬ tice department said the escape was made at Thornburg Va Fifteen other prisoners aboard the bus made no attempt to join their companions The seven prisoners at ¬ tacked the driver of the bus with their fists beating him severely and forcing the vehi ¬ cle off the road The convicts then stopped a passing automobile and fled
