IMPSEEN IN LARGEST PAYOFF OF FAIRMOUNT PARK MEETING MEETINGSprings Springs Big Surprise in Winning Fourth Event IVIutuel of 10940 10940COLLINSVILLE COLLINSVILLE 111 June 19 The Fair mount Park Jockey Club played host to firemen from all over the state of Illinois this afternoon and delegates from various sections were on hand for the eightrace all claiming card at Fairmount Park The fire fighters liad rares named for their section in all races with the exception of the fea ¬ tured sixth race which was named in honor of AssociationThe the Illinois Firemens Association The weather was uncomfortably warm but in spite of this another large crowd was present for the well balanced program The track was the fastest of the meeting as attested by the time recorded by the cheaper grade of platers that met in the first four events which were for nonwinners this yeai However with the running of the fifth event the caliber of horses improved The first six races were contested over the sprint distances while the seventh race was at one mile and the nightcap at a mile and seventy yards Impseen a threeyearold daughter of Khamseen racing in the silks of George B McCamey Fort Worth Texas breeder sprung a surprise in the five and a half furlongs fourth race when she earned the first winning purse of her career in a driv ¬ ing finish from Scottish Mary the favorite Fountain Grove and nine others In earn ¬ ing brackets for the first time the McCamey representative paid the largest mutuel price of the meeting Eddie Burns had the mount on the victress and lucky to get a narrow opening the first threeeighths swung to the middle of the track for the drive and com ¬ ing with a nice burst of speed got up in the last few strides to down Scottish Mary by a length The mutuel payoff on Impseen was 10940
