OMAHA PATRONS WITNESS ODD SCENES ATSTART OF OPENER OPENEROMAHA OMAHA Neb June 19 The bad actions of a number of Nebraskabred horses de ¬ layed the start of the first race at AkSar Ben Field Thursday afternoon for many minutes and when the field finally got away Brown Banner an elevenyearold shot to the front at once to lead all the way and pay 13 Elsies Color was responsible for most of the trouble before the start and tossed her rider three times to run off twice but Brown Banner Don Banquet and Buv also contributed to the confusion when they also unseated their jockeys and took a dash for it itOne One of the remarkable scenes ever wit ¬ nessed on a race track was a lone horseman on the back stretch jumping through the fence and herding Brown Banner Don Ban ¬ quet and Buv to the inside rail while all were riderless and holding them there until assistant starters and the outrider took them under control Elsies Color which was run ¬ ning loose was ordered withdrawn by the stewards and money that had been wagered on her was refunded
