ARRANGE DINNER PURSE AT DETROIT NEXT WEEK INVITATIONS TO RACE Turf and Paddock Club Sponsors Sporting Event for Motor City Socialites on Wednesday June 25 25DETROIT DETROIT Mich June 19 Racing colors of prominent Detroit sportsmen and sports ¬ women will fly in the most sporting race the Turf and Paddock Clubs Dinner Purse which will be the feature of the program at the Fair Grounds Wednesday June 25 25Subscribers Subscribers to the Dinner Purse a dash for twoyearolds at five furlongs will be eligible by invitation only with prominent Detroit society owners having status as pre ¬ ferred entries and others who will lease horses for the event being drawn from a list dl more than a dozen social leaders of the Motor City CityOn On the evening of the race the subscrib ¬ ers will honor the winning owner at a dinner in the clubhouse at the local course The top deck of the club building will be re ¬ served for subscribers and their friends on the afternoon and e ening of the race A dance orchestra will provide the music and entertainment entertainmentThe The Dinner Purse modeled after events of this type run at Keeneland and Hialeah Park is being sponsored by the Turf and Paddock Club an organization formed in 1932 by prominent socialites as a social ad ¬ junct of the Detroit Racing Associations meeting meetingCooperating Cooperating with the club and Dinner Purse committee Will be the Grosse Pointe Hunt Club and the Bloomficld Open Hunt Club The committc headed by Charles A Bray who is Michigan tate steward at the meeting has placed engraved invitations in the mail to subscribers Bray reports that the interest already shown in the race far exceeds early expectations expectationsCONDITIONS CONDITIONS OF RACE RACEThese These invitation forms also include the conditions of the race details of leasing horses and acquiring colors where none have been registered and other points of infor mation regarding the race itself and the dinner to the winning owner ownerSubscriptions Subscriptions are to be returned to racing secretary Charles F Henry who will direct the technical routine attendant to the race itself Subscribers may lease a horse through the racing secretary secretarySubscription Subscription fee to the event is 25 with no further payment These fees will go towards purchasing a beautiful silver tro ¬ phy for the winning owner iiiniatures of that trophy to be presented to each sub ¬ scriber Each patron will be entitled to two places at the dinner and assessment for additional guests will be 15 a couple coupleAmong Among the leading Detroit owners who have their horses on the grounds are Charles T Fisher of Dixiana Peter A Markey and Charles Bonn owners of the Bomar Stable T D Buhl and F M Alger Jr Following is the committee in charge of all arrangements for the feature and the dinner Charles A Bray chairman F M Alger Jr Lewis L Bredin Walter C Briggs Jr C Henry Buhl T D Buhl Morgan D Douglas Charles T Fisher Jr Bernard E Hopper James iJ Johnson Jr Charles D Pierce Owen Skclton and Frank W Shuell
