Grand pa I Tops Eleven Racers Of H C Hatch at Detroit DetroitDETROIT DETROIT Mich June 2 Bolstering the number of thoroughbreds quartered in the Fair Grounds stable area which is filled to near capacity is the stable of 11 head which Cecil Howard brought in from Woodbine Park Tuesday for the well known Canadian turfman H C Hatch HatchTopping Topping the list of Hatch representatives to be seen in action here is Grandpal a threeyearold stakeperforming son of Granville Pompalo who last Saturday added the William Hendrie Memorial Handicap closing day feature at Wood ¬ bine Park to the laurels he had gained in triumphing in the Coronation Stakes as a twoyearold over the same oval last fall Grandpal made four starts as a twoyear old in 1942 for two victories to gain 6765 for his owner ownerOthers Others in the Hatch string are Sweep nack also a performer in the handicap and allowance brackets Loango Goan Frilure Cossack Post Budpath Suffern and the juveniles Royat and Papau
