Estimate 12500 Realized From Wheeling Victory Meet WHEELING W Va June 15 Despite the fact that the first seven days of racing at the spring meeting of the West Virginia Jockey Club which has been designated the VictoryCharity Meet was attended by the worst weather and track conditions in the history of the track the meeting which closed Monday June 7 was from every standpoint a distinct success successThis j This success is indicated by an estimate issued today by J O Pearson chairman of the Victory Supervisory Committee Pear ¬ son stated that the American Red Cross will receive over 10000 as its share of the proceeds while the local War Chest and Community Fund will get over 2500 The Red Cross due to its urgent national needs received 80 per cent of the Charity meeting proceeds proceedsFinal Final details in connection with the ul ¬ timate settlement will be completed shortly when track officials and members of the Victory Committee review the detailed re ¬ port being prepared by the auditing di ¬ vision
