Calumet Farms Twilight Tear, who has a long reach, on the seasons three-year-old filly championship, and Brovnell Combs Durazna, who may be one of her principal rivals for that honor, head a field of six scheduled to mecu in the 0,000 Princess. Doreen Stakes at Washington Park tomorrow. Rounding out the field for the sprint of six furlongs are Hyman Friedbergs Harriet Sue, Eslie Asburys Bell Song, Miss R. C. Hodges Miss U. S. O. and Mrs. John M. Branhams Another Night. While any one of the others might be returned the winner, principal interest in the Princess Doreen will revolve around the performances of Twilight Tear and Durazna. Twilight Tear, who won the Lassie Stakes here last summer, has seven straight victories to her credit this season, and in the process of compiling this enviable record she won the Pimlico Oaks, Coaching Club American Oaks, Acorn Stakes and the Ren-nert Handicap. Durazna, a triple stakes winner last year, has been under colors only once in 1944, and on that occasion she won an overnight feature, the Anita Pea-body Purse, here last week. Question of Distance While Twilight Tear has by far the most impressive record this season, there- are some who doubt she can keep pace with the Combs filly over such a distance as six furlongs. Over a route she probably would be a prohibitive favorite, but Durazna is certain to have many admirers at the six furlongs over which tomorrows stake will -be decided. Also in favor of Durazna will be the three-pound pull in weights she receives from the Calumet miss. Twilight Tear, under the conditions of the race, must shoulder 121 pounds, to 118 for Durazna. Both fillies are coming up to tomorrows engagement in excellent.condition. Twilight Tear appears to have fully recovered from the slight injury she had when she won the Coaching Club American Oaks, and Durazna should have benefited from her one and only start of the year, -i i
