Flyweight Has Designs On Betsy Ross Stakes Shifty Band of Juvenile Fillies To Meet at Suffolk on Week-End EAST BOSTON, Mass., June 27. The richest running of the Betsy Ross Stakes for two-year-old fillies under a 0,000 purse value for the first time, should also be productive of its most interesting renewal. Racing secretary Charles J. McLennan has checked off 14 of the 44 eligibles as overnight entries in Saturdays juvenile classic, including some of the fleetest of the age and sex yet to appear. Word from New York indicates that Col. C. V. Whitneys Flyweight, regarded by ma ay as one of the better fillies to appear this year, will definitely be shipped for the five furlongs engagement, From New York also is coming the Louisana Farms Pamela; C, holder of the Tropical Park track record for four and a half furlongs last winter and a steady going youngster. Other in- vaders grooming for the 0,000 stake, include Phil Godfreys Quiet Shot and the Longchamps Farms Leslie Grey, another - of the speediest fillies of the young 1944 season. Among those expected to take part in Saturdays rich event are Mrs. W. W. Adams pair of High East and Daisy Lee, Mrs. L. Copenhavers Fleet Queen, E. Goodwins Jacks Jill; William Helis Golfo, F. W.
