In another transaction Knight sold a yearling full sister to Mountain Road, two-year-old winner here, to Torrance C. Melrose. t Doug Dodson has been engaged to ride Col. Edward R. Bradley s Be Faithful in the Pimlico Oaks renewal at Pimlico a week from Saturday. The Baylor O. Hickman horses, all intended for eastern racing, may be shipped to Delaware Park, thence to Garden State. Jack Gunn is training his own Version and Running Elk, and High Peak and Bid a Sweep for the Bonds Mill Stable. Nancys Baby and Hylaura, owned by Laura Froehlich. are here in charge of trainer William Dashield. Aridisical. owned by Robert W. Atha. of Mt. Pleasant, Mich., was an addition to the large stable trained by Charles Sanborn and will be included among the horses Sanborn will campaign through the season. Howard Hoffman plans a fast trip to Cleveland, where he has several of the T. C. Melrose horses at Randall Park. He will return here within a few days. Clarence Mackay. assistant starter who spent more than two years with the fighting forces in Europe, is back in his homeland for a 30-day rest. En route to his home in Owensboro. Ky., he stopped off in Louisville yesterday. The American Flag mare, Americana, purchased by Torrance C. Melrose several days ago, is to be mated with the successful young sire, Hash, who stands at Lt. Warner Jones Hermitage Farm near here. The mare was sold by Joe D. Puckett. I Injured slightly while en route to the ,post for the Bashford Manor Stakes, Red i Torch will be out of training for a short I time, it was stated by Richard T. Watts. Mrs. Humphrey Folk, whose horses are trained by Charles Sanborn, and Mrs. J. Warfield Rodgers. wife of the owner of one I of the larger stables here, are visitors.
