Wood lawn Event To Draw Ace Field Quizzle, Harriet Sue and Espino Gold Probables for La Salle Supporting Race STICKNEY, 111., June 12.— While the1 ,000 La Salle Handicap will be the ad- | vertised feature of the Lincoln Fields Jockey Clubs program at Hawthorne on Saturday, much interest also will attach to the Woodlawn Handicap in which the best sprinters on the scene once more are to come together. The Woodlawn is a test of six and one-half furlongs and, among ; others, it may bring out Hyman Friedbergs Harriet Sue and A. S. Higgins Quizzle, ! winner of the local season *s two principal sprint features. Harriet Sue last Saturday distinguished herself by capturing the Steger Handicap i while on the first Saturday of the meeting J Quizzle accounted for the Crete Handicap. | The Higgins horse also finished in a dead j heat for top money with Espino Gold in the Francis S. Peabody Memorial Handicap. Nominations Close Tomorrow Both Harriet Sue and Quizzle are holding their excellent form and Hawthorne fans are looking forward to a duel between i them. They, however, would not be the ; only ones to whom the Woodlawn would be attractive. Espino Gold, who carried the • colors of Mrs. Frank Nugent into second place in the Steger last week-end, might ; try again for another purse this Saturday | while another able speedster who may be j found in the Woodlawn field is Leon j Tikulskis Holdall. Nominations for the Woodlawn do not j close until Thursday and a dozen or morej are expected to be made eligible for it. The race carries a ,500 purse.
