Tw d H and i cq p at J a m qj c Q Today Dqnor Big Dial Top Small Fields FieldsCbnniver Cbnniver Double Winner at atMeeting Meeting Gold Bull Compete CompeteWith With Howe Stable Homebred HomebredJAMAICA JAMAICA L I N Y May 5 A pair of handicaps at a mile and a sixteenth head tomorrows program at Jamaica and while they have drawn small fields they promise to provide good speculative races racesThe The 6500 Blackstock for Class B horses has attracted five headed by Peering Hoyes Donor at 22 pounds This will be the fifth offering and is followed by the 5500 Sand Marsh for threeyearolds in which George Jacobsons Big Dial is top weight also with 122 pounds poundsDonor Donor has not been out since the Ex ¬ celsior Handicap oh April 17 when he fin ¬ ished fourth behind Knockdown Double Jay and Stymie finishing well Last year he displayed class by winning the Yankee Handicap and the Jerome at Belmont Park and occasionally raced well in other stakes but appears to have his work cut out for him tomorrow His four rivals are Harry LaMontagnes Conniver a twotime win ¬ ner at the meeting Allen T Simmons Color Bull winner of his last at the same dis ¬ tance as the Blackstock Greentree Stables Coincidence who raced more kindly than usual when finishing third to Endeavour H and Vertigo II a little more than a week ago and Gustave Rings Lord Grillo a fastfinishing sprinter who may be very dangerous at this distance Big Dial was spared the indignity Jof tak ¬ ing large gobs of mud from the flying heels bfi Citation and Coaltown in the Kentucky Derby when it was found impossible to fly him to Churchill Downs as was intended His best race was a distant second to Cita ¬ tion in the Flamingo at Hialeah while his best race on Long Island was an equally distant third behind Escadru and Better Self in an overnight race at a mile and a sixteenth here His last appearance was in the Wood Memorial in which he finished seventh but he met with interference ac ¬ cording to Ronnie Nash who rode him that day Eddie Arcaro will be in the saddle to ¬ morrow morrowBig Big Dials opposition includes C V Whit ¬ ney sQuarter Pole winner of his first start this year but a remote fourth behind Leo Gerngross Noble Hero last week and he must meet that colt again under less fa ¬ vorable conditions tomorrow King Ranchs Safe Arrival looms more dangerous than either of these two having beaten Ace Ad ¬ miral much more easily than the nose mar gin at the wire indicates in his only start of the year The Eight Thirty gelding was preceded by reports that he had outworked Better Self at Columbia during the winter The others in the Sand Marsh are A C Ernsts Alablue a hardhitting filly who finished third in the 20000 Prioress Stakes last week behind Ttsabet and Picnic Lunch closing strongly and Belair Studs Hypnos an honest colt but one who may lack a xlittle class Hypnos has the distinction of having forced Citation to do something ap ¬ proaching his best at the end of the Ever ¬ glades Handicap at Hialeah but has never regained those heights heightsRacing Racing secretary John B Campbell has arranged an unusually attractive program with such stakes fillies as Pipette Dark Venus Bimlette Halsgal and Legendra among the eight disputing the fourth race
