TelAutograph System to Be In Use at Maywood Meeting MeetingMaywood Maywood Park which opens Chicagos harness racing season next Monday night at North Avenue and River Road with an electrical tote board and the faster 1948 model of the E M Smith starting gate has added another new device to greet an ex ¬ pected crowd of 12000 firstnighters firstnightersGeneral General manager Sam Wiedrick an ¬ nounced the TelAutograph a system used to expedite payoffs at cashier windows has been installed for the 60night meeting at the halfmile plant It is the first ap ¬ pearance of the device on any track in the Chicago area areaFour Four transceivers have been installed in the Maywood Park calculating room and 54 receivers at the cashier windows The prices will be Hashed to cashiers on a small screen from the calculating room immed ¬ iately after each race The new device eliminates the old system of messengers dashing from the calculating room to the windows with price slips slipsLee Lee Mosher director of Maywood Parks mutuel plant estimates the new device will save approximately rfalf an hour during an evenings program programThe The means of transmitting prices from the calculating room to the cashier win ¬ dows by electrical impulse proved a big success in Florida said Mosher Maywood Parks patrons also will f md there will be no delays in payoffs through the installa ¬ tion of the TelAutograph service It has been used extensively in large banks and hotels and is a great improvement for race track operations
