Charles Town Opens Turf Season in W Va Monday MondayPlant Plant in Complete Readiness for Meet Plenty of Horses Assured AssuredCHARLES CHARLES TOWN W Va May 13 Thoroughbred racing returns to West Vir ¬ ginia next Monday when president and general manager Al J Boyle ushers in a 43 day meeting at this sixfurlong course Following a final inspection of the entire plant Boyle pronounced everything in readiness readinessAlways Always an attractive meeting to the horsemen as well as the patrons of nearby Washington D C and Baltimore Charles Tpwn again is literally deluged with appli ¬ cations for stalls from handlers in the vari ¬ ous sectors While the better part of thor ¬ oughbreds are being shipped from Rhode Island where the Lincoln Downs meeting terminates on Saturday there also will be many stables from the circuits of Mary ¬ land New Jersey and New England EnglandLeeds Leeds K Riely assistant to president Boyle hasbeen busy in recent weeks and following a conversation with assistant rac ¬ ing secretary Greg Johnson announced that trainers have requested stall space for upwards of 1500 horses While the track grounds can house only about 500 racers at least another 300 will stable at Berry ville and nearby farms farmsThe The equipment to be in use this summer is the same used at this course in recent years The Jack Thomas High Speed Elec ¬ trical Camera and the Bahr Starting Gate will lie in use
