Thread in a hard drive while Mrs L H Thompsons Cloy finished third Bodens Pal running with a 12500 claiming tag after previous ¬ ly having engaged in a pair of stakes events during the Lincoln Fields meeting moved along nicely in back of the early pace fashioned by Spirsilla until halfway around the final turn There he reached contention but at the top of the stretch he found himself on the heels of both Cloy and Spirsilla When they opened a gap Bodens Pal drove through assumed com ¬ mand then held on gamely to withstand Late Threads characteristic closing bid The Bishop colorbearer raced the 1760Mrs Mrs O H Marshalls Good Turn a story book horse won his second consecutive race when he drove up to score over M J Dants Southern Pride in the fifth at six furlongs with Jacob Shers Magnolia third in the capacity field of 12 The 10 yearold son of Ariel Girl Scout under the skillful handling of Robert Norman charged up through the final stages to win by a half length lengthGood Good Turn was formerly the property of the Maryland sportsman Alfred Gwynne Vanderbilt He won stakes but when he went wrong Vanderbilt gave the horse away with the stipulation that he would never again be raced Good Turn drifted amout the country and before he was re ¬ turned to competition on a recognized track he engaged in quarter horse races in Florida Mrs Marshall managed to ob ¬ tain his papers from The Jockey Club of New York then raced him during the win ¬ ter in Florida In spite of his age he has maintained excellent form having won four races in 12 starts and 12400 in purses
