To Stand Mel Eppley At T C Melrose Farm FarmEight Eight of Thirteen Matrons at Union Ky Nursery Have Foaled FoaledLEXINGTON LEXINGTON Ky June 24 Perhaps one of the finest thoroughbred breeding es ¬ tablishments in the Blue Grass state is that maintained by the Cleveland hotel opera ¬ tor Torrence Melrose Situated at Union Ky the nursery comprises 210 acres most of which area is in blue grass The Melrose farm also boasts modern buildings and the latest facilities used in the thoroughbred breeding industry industryAt At present no stallion is in service at the Melrose place but it is planned to stand Mel Eppley a bay son of imported Hairan and from the Wise Counsellor mare Marie Jean there next season Mel Eppleys most notable achievement was a sharp victory in the Mayflower Stakes Now 13 mares are quartered at the Union showplace and eight of these foaled this spring Mina J has a bay colt sired by Hash and she visited Grand Slams court Hada flower a bay colt by Apache and she was returned to the same stallion Sun Edah a bay filly the get of Devil Red and she has been mated with Rhodes Scholar Win emacj a chestnut filly by Sir Damion and she was bred to Gray Dream Mel Helen has been sent to Bold and Bad Fictionary was bred to Isolator Darby Dido was mated with Calexico Carrara was bred to Hash and Night Lady the dam of the speedy Hash Night and quick filly Seely visited Best Sellers court courtTemple Temple Dancer the dam of On Your Toes and other good winners foaled a bay colt by Bold and Bad and she was returned to the same horse Valdina Dart foaled a bay colt foe get of Swlv and she was bred back to Swiv Valdina Cooky dropped a chestnut colt by Swiv and she was mated with the same sire in season
