Two West Coast Turfmen Tax Cases to Be Tried Together TogetherLOS LOS ANGELES Calif June 24 The case of Luke Sneed vs the County of Los Angeles and the case of Louis B Mayer vs the County of Los Angeles will be tried together on November 16 this year in the first legal round testing whether the personal property tax levied by the county on horses stabled at Santa Anita on the first Monday of March each year constitutes dual taxation for owners who are also taxed by counties in which they maintain their stables stablesThe The Luke Sneed and Mayer suits are identical as both home stables are main tained in Riverside County and for this reason their being tried together was ap ¬ proved by the city attorneys office after the county counsel had voiced an approval The November date was the first available on the court calendar as Neil McCarthy a witness for Luke Sneed and Mayers at ¬ torney is leaving for England shortly and will not return until some time in Sep tember
