INAUGURAL, a sharp contender throughout, was taken up going into the third turn when in close quarters, moved up "on the outside when clear and drew away after displacing CHEROKEE V. The latter was bothered going by the stands the second time, took command and drew clear, but was not good enough. SAXON DOOR had a rough trip attempting to move through on the rail. MARKSMAN made the pace under hard restraint, faltered and came out of the race lame. PHALTUP showed little. VALLEYS PAL tired after six furlongs and came out of the race sore. INSCROLL was blocked and hemmed in on the backstretch the second time and failed to. rally when clear. LUMPUCKEROW tired after engaging KISTAN for the pace. MOON BLUE was through early.
