WITHDRAWN, never far back, came to the inside for the drive and, after disposing of SUNNY HASH, gamely withstood HONEY BILL The latter showed good speed from the start, was forced -slightly wide during the stretch run when SUNNY HASH drifted out, then closed resolutely. SUNNY HASH bore out while tiring during the late stages. RED SAM rallied too late to seriously endanger the leaders. SERENADER tired. OCEAN QUEEN had no mishap. MISS JANE B. failed to stay.. BUBBLESTREAM and HOOSIER SON were always outrun. Won driving; second and third the same. HASTY SUN, slowo reach best stride, responded gamely when shaken up for the ultimate test and, under adept handling, was up in the concluding stride to outfinish ESPIONNE. The latter held a slight lead when settled for the stretch run, then held on tenaciously, just missing. SUN IDOL BOY, forwardly placed throughout, lugged in slightly during the late stages and as a result was unable to withstand the leaders. SPECIAL swerved during the stretch run and under punishment was not good enough. RANAHEAD failed to stay while racing between horses. PIC ME was bumped during the late stages when in close quarters. ESPIRITU ancLJSHORT REIGN were never dangerous. YESNOW was througir-early. ROMAN VULCAN, in nearest pursuit of the early leader, took command with a rush inside the stretch and drew clear. BEAUTYS TIGER held sway until well inside the final furlong before weakening. TOWN SHEIK was in close quarters along the rail throughout the entire stretch run. MARCH PROUDLY came out for the drive, but was not good enough. SEE TOP had no mishap. ICANC, unhurried when outrun early, came out to the middle of the track to reach the lead inside the stretch, then in a long drive gamely withstood DA DO. A claim of foul against the winner by the rider of DA DO for alleged interference during the concluding strides was not allowed by the stewards. DA DO, outrun early as usual, closed with a belated burst of speed and rapidly was overtaking the winner. ARNIE finished determinedly in a sharp effort. OUR PICK tired under pressure. EASY BUY lacked a rally. BARBAZURE had no mishap. BAMBOOZLE was outrun. HADAMAR began tardily and lost all chance. COUNT DEEP and THE MARNE were through early. BURRWOOD was overmatched.
