Delaware Parks Wilmington Offices Becoming Busy Spot SpotSTANTON STANTON Del April 30 With nomina ¬ tions for all except three of Delaware Parks 14 stakes closing on Thursday May 1 and the May 29 opening of the 33day meeting drawing closer activity at the Stanton tiack and the associations Wil ¬ mington offices is increasing in tempo each day Already closed are Delawares two futuritytype events for threeyearolds the Leonard Richards and the Delaware Oaks in addition to the Delaware Spring Maiden Steeplechase SteeplechaseBoth Both the Richards and the Oaks are mile and furlong fixtures with estimated gross values this season of 4000 including the 27500 addsd to each by the track The Richards will be renewed June 28 just one week following the running of the Oaks for fillies The added money value of each of these stakes has been increased by 2500 annually and judging by the quality and quantity of the nominations which have been coming in highclass competition is indicated for their 1952 renewals renewalsThe The highlight of the meeting will come on closing day July 5 when the 50000 added mile and a quarter New Castle Handicap wilt be featured The added money was doubled last year and the dis ¬ tance stretched out to give the race cham ¬ pionship status and make it one of the richest in the world for fillies and mares Ogden Phipps Busanda led home a classy field last season earning 42600 of the events 60700 gross value
