Dr F Hugh Wilson Named Veterinarian for Board BoardRepresents Represents Michigan Commission At Two Thoroughbred Race Meets MeetsSpecial Special to Daily Racing Form FormDETROIT DETROIT Mich May 7 The appoint ¬ ment of Dr F Hugh Wilson of Rochester Mich as official veterinarian of the Mich ¬ igan Racing Commission for the states two thoroughbred race meetings was announced today by commissioner James H Ingli IngliDr Dr Wilson has served as an association veterinarian at Detroit tracks for five years Last year he also acted as state veterinarian at the Hazel Park Harness Raceway RacewayBefore Before his appointment Dr Wilson com ¬ pleted a special course in prerace physical examinations horse identification and urine and saliva testing at the Jockey Club school for officials at Belmont Park ParkDr Dr Wilson practiced privately at Roch ¬ ester Mich from 1940 to 1945 before taking a job in the veterinary division of the Parke Davis Co After four years he left to take jobs with the city ofDetroit and the Oak ¬ land County Health Department DepartmentHis His duties at both the Detroit Race Course and Hazel Park will include prerace physi ¬ cal examination of horses collection and shipment of saliva and urine specimens and general supervision of sanitary conditions in the barn areas areasDr Dr Wilson 40 is a graduate of Michigan State College with degrees in veterinary medicine and bacteriology He is married and has one child
