Four Lincoln Winners Clash Today Go Seven-Eighths In Manteno Purse Dads Degree, Koritza, Idle Platter, Chance Snow Set For Rubber Bow to Judges LINCOLN FIELDS, Crete, HI., June 7. Four winners at this meeting will have a soft of "rubber" of their own when they meet as members of the field for the seven-furlong Manteno Purse on Tuesdays program at Lincoln Fields. It will be the first time these four have met during the current homecoming meeting at this Will County track. These four are Ar-Ev Stables Dads Degree, John Becks Koritza, J. and G. Hejnas Chance Snow, and T. Koonces Idle Platter. Also contesting the Manteno with the aforenamed rivals will be W. J. Fords Experimental and P. G. Johnsons Uncle Tom. The latter two have started at this meeting, Uncle To mfinishing second in both his races here, bowing, in turn, to Udo Reinach and Count Alex. Koritza was the first of the Manteno field to win at this meeting, which he did on the second day, May 21, while racing for Dave Feldmans Blossom Stable. He was claimed that day by John Beck and made his first start for that Southern Illi-noisan on June 3, finishing second to Clifford Lusskys filly, Tuonine. Koritz, a six-year-old gelding by Heliopolis Newbattle, has won three races this year. Unplaced on Memorial Day Next to win here was Dads Degree. On May 25 this consistent four-year-old colt found another band he could trounce, winning at the direct expense of Ruthie S. and Calicut. But he was unplaced behind Legatee in his next outing on Memorial Day. Dads Degree, a son of Third Degree Ladslady, had won at Sportsmans Park and also finished third to En Fleur and Phil D. in one of the handicap features at that track. Making his second start of the year, the six-year-old gelding, Idle Platter, won here on May 27, beating the recent two-time winner, Fancy Gent, Legatee, and others. In his first start of 1954, which was at Lincoln Fields on May 21, Idle Platter was unplaced behind Silver K. The gelded son of Platter Idle Playmate won seven races last year, and also placed seven times. Chance Snow, four-year-old gelding by Cassis Snow Maid, won a race at Oaklawn Park, Hot Springs, by seven lengths before coming to Chicago. After finishing fourth to King, Alsab Ace, and Lotasmoke on May 24 at this meeting, he won his next start on May 31, beating Mighty Moment, Old Pat, and others. - Uncle Tom had started only twice previously this season when he placed second to Udo Reinach, as above mentioned. He won at Arlington Park last year, where he was claimed for ,500. Experimental, a six-year-old stallion by Kayteekel Madam X., has made four unsuccessful starts this season after winning five races last year . The Belle of America Purse for two-year-old maidens engages a band which includes three candidates for next Saturdays Miss America Stakes. These are Thomas Piatts Lady Alorter, W. Pohns Patill, and S. A. Alexanders Sleepy Norma. Others in the Belle of America are James Emerys Argument, B. V. Reams War MintE. P. Metz Roman Heart, David Shors Ludlow, and Ned W. Brents Fleet Missy.
