ENGLISH MAN, steadied while not too far out of it, found racing room between horses on the stretch turn, took the lead in the early . stretch and lasted to withstand the strong late challenge of MINNIX. The latter, out of it early, came around the field to make a bid on the stretch turn, then was getting to the winner after having taken the overland route. LA SHIRL showed good late speed and had no mishap. BOY BLUE, away fastest but on the outside with the leaders going into the backstretch, held a brief lead while disposing of TERRY MINE, then could not stay in the final going. BOBBYS DREAM tired. CARDINAL LADY was outrun, as was NORD FLAME. TERRY MINE quit. GET READY was never a strong factor. HIGH CLIMBER walked out of the gate. Scratched 18561 Orphan Doc, 118.
