Belmont Candidate Limelight Sold to Mr., Mrs. W. C. Hoffman HOLLYWOOD PARK, Inglewoqd, Calif., June 7. The Belmont Stakes candidate, Limelight, was bought today by Mr. and Mrs. Walter H. Hoffman, Jr., of Rancho Casitas Company. Limelight will remain in the care of Moody Jolley, trainer of the Arthur B. Hancock stable from who he was purchased, until after the Belmont. The colt will carry the Hoffman colors in the New York race, and shortly thereafter will be brought to California, though he may be kept in the East long enough to fill another engagements or two, as he is "staked" back there and not in California. Limelight was entered in last Saturdays Kent Stakes at Delaware Park, but Hancock chose to scratch him in view of the negotiations for the transfer of ownership. The colt is a three-year-old chestnut son of Nasrullah No via Puppis, by Hyperion, and was bred in Ireland by J. McGrath. He has won four of his seven starts this year, and appears to like a distance of ground. The Hoffmans plan to race their purchase and then eventually retire him to the stud at their Ventura Ranch. Ex-jockey Harry Richards is their trainer.
