Card Detroit Co-Features For Michigan Racing Fans Polemos Seeks Sophomore Eyent; Sprint Engages Princess Trace Continued from Page One scored over Mad Hare, Black Bantam, War Token, Our Kite and Hit the Spot in 1:39. Before his shipment from Florida the Grandview Stable colt visited the Gulfstream Park winners ring on two" occasions after vanquishing good company in. a pair of one mile and one-sixteenth outings. He also posted a "three-four-two" record during his 1953 campaign. While Polemos certainly holds a royal chance for victory in the Tuesday twin headliner, he must turn in a sharp performance to chalk up his fourth success of the current season. In the overnight field named to oppose him are Thomas F. Devereuxs homebred Gaylon, 101; G and G Stables My Fault, 113; William E. Britts Narajo, 113; Willis and Harris Uncle Bernie, 113; Grace Kosibas locally owned Fast Traffic, 111, and A. P. Schiro Jr.s Princess Polly, 114 pounds. The apprentice allowance is claimed for Gaylon and Fast Traffic. Little Billy Phelps, who scored his initial saddle success here earlier in the meeting, will have the mount on Gaylon in the River Rouge Kiwanis, and apprentice Johnny Rotz, presently top reinsman at the Detroit Race Course, may handle Fast Traffic. Pat Milligan is engaged for Princess Polly. Manuel N. Gonzalez was named on Narajo, Robert Lee Baird. will be at the reins on My Fault, and no jockey had been named late today for Uncle Bernie. Princess Polly, a Brown King-sired filly, is slated to make her Motor City debut in the River Rouge Kiwanis, and her morning trials have been, impressive enough to catch the eyes of local dockers. Winner of a three-quarters mile event at Suffolk Downs in April, the Schiro Stable filly followed that conquest with a well-deserved triumph in a one mile and 70 yards overnight test at the same course May 15, stepping along in a commendable 1:44 over a fast but slightly dull strip. Mrs. George C. Whites Princess Trace, who wiir be guided by jockey Cook, and Theodore D. Buhls Bee Lee Tee, with clever Carroll Bierman up, probably will come in for the major share of "tote" support in the Allen Park Kiwanis Purse. Princess Trace finished second to Fiddle on May 28 in the three-quarters mile Fen-kell Purse, and Bee Lee Tee won an overnight event May 27, then placed behind Blackamoor June 2 in a sprint offering contested on a heavy track. The G and G Stable will start Barshoe in the Allen Park Kiwanis. William Strongs silk are to be carried by Nickies Boy, Everett Lowrance is to send out the hard-hitting Mock Battle, and Jerry Lynch will depend on Raintree. Jockey Howard Craig is engaged for Raintree, Baird will handle Barshoe, Forrest Kaelin drew the mount on Nickies Boy, and Tommy Barrow may guide the New Orleans-owned Mock Battle.
