NOTHING DOING AT DETROIT. Detroit, Mich., July 12. There is no likelihood of a running meeting at Grosse Poiute track this year. The plant is now in the city limits and the people in the district known as Fairview are unalterably opposed to liotting. Whatever the attitude of the authorities, they will be compelled to act upon any complaint that is made against betting. There is trouble ahead in this respect for the Grand Circuit trotting meeting, which will open at Grosse Pointe a week from Monday. When Detroit wont stand for the trotters, it is a cinch that here is no chance to hold a meeting for runners.
