JOHN MCAFFERTY IS REINSTATED. New York. October 7. .T. J. McCafferty has been restored to good standing in racing affairs through Thomas II. Williams, president of the California Jockev Club, withdrawing a decision ruling McCafferty off the turf, and this afternoon had the freedom of the race courses about New York for the lirst time in two years. McCafferty will at once be granted a license and will have charge of the Jere Wernberg stable.
