Bryan showed brilliant speed, but was a In tie short, tiring suddenly in the closing, strides. Waterbury ran a very dull race and began slowly, but came fast in the final sixteenth. I.aron Bsher, in a long stretch drive, closed up ground gradually and finished fast.- Josics Jewel showed speed, but was done for when an eighth out. Macias showed the most speed throughout and. under gentle urging, held Rey Hindoo safe in the closing strides The latter followed the leaders closely for the first half and stood a drive through the stretch gamely Jane Swift was alwavs prominent and, in a long stretch drive, responded gamely to punishment, but finished tiring. Dr. Mathews ran fairly well, but can do much better. Smirker also will improve. Spohn showed early speed. , , ,, , lM.. Jocund, badly outpaced for the first half, moved up steadily after entering the stretch and, in a sharp final furlong drive, easily shook off Warning. The latter was raced into exhaustion m following Critic and tired badly in the stretch. Search Me went well for five and a half furlongs. Mary Candlemas ran a good race and faltered when an eighth out, but rallied in tht closing drive and outstayed Joyner under the whip. The latter ran to Ills best form and put up a game finish. Avoutellus ran close up to the strctcli and stood the closing drive well. Baker ran a good seven furlongs and quit.
