STARS NAMED FOR KENTUCKY DERBY LOUISVILLE. Ky.. March 1. II. C. Applegate, who is associated witli Charles F. Grainger in the management of Churchill Downs, Is back from New Orleans, where he went to obtain entries to the various stakes to be run at the Downs this spring. He was quite enthusiastic over the results of his trip. Just how many entries have been made to the Derby thus far is not known, as the management naturally does not care to make any announcement until all of the stakes close, which will be on March 4. However, it can be stated that Commander J. K. L. Ross has nominated five, four of them being Billy Kelly. War Pennant, Sir Barton and Milkmaid. P. A. Clark has named three, including Dunboyne; James McClelland lias forwarded Eternals entry, while Willis Sharpe Kilmer Is represented by three, Mormon being the star of the trio.
