A communication Iims been received by the Jockey Club from William Woodward signifying his acceptance of the tentative offer of the place. His formal election will take plai-e at the next meeting of the Jockey Club on February 9. Mr. Woodward is the president of the Hanover National Bank of New York and proprietor of the Belair Stud at Collington, Md. The American turf gains through his acceptance of the vaeant stewardship. He races some of the horses in the P. A. Clark white and maroon colon.
