STRATE LEAVES W1KIUP STUD Resigns as Manager of J. H. Ros-seters Breeding Establishment at Santa Rosa, California. SAN FRANCISCO, Cal., November 1. The resignation of George Strate as manager of J. H. Rosseters famous Wikiup Rancho, near Santa Rosa, Cal., went into effect today. Mr. Rosseter was sorry to part with him and endeavored to get him to reconsider his determination to sever his connection with Wikiup, but, however, without success. During Mr. Strates management of the big rancho it has been built up from the foundation he laid to its present recognition as one one of the fine show places, not only of Sonoma County, but as an ideal California country estate. People of "note from far and near when visiting Wikiup have congratulated Strate upon the accomplishments resulting from a desire to make the best of everything. The wonderful buildings, including the residences, the wonderful horse barn and other buildings, the gardens and landscape gardening, have all been planned and executed under the direction of Mr. Strate. The fame of the AVikiup Rancho string of finely bred horses is national and international. Mr. Strate is a thorough horseman, knows when and where to pick stock and to buy and sell it. Under his management the sale of horses from the rancho has realized alone something like 5320.000.
