FIELD FOR ARLINGTON FUTURITY Ten Crack Juveniles Expected to Start in Rich Race Saturday, Closing Feature of North Side Meet-i ing Mata Hari Likely Favorite ; ARLINGTON HEIGHTS, 111., July 26. Dixianas unbeaten filly sensation, Mata Hari, probable favorite for the 0,000 Arlington Futurity Saturday, had her final important trial for the three-quarters event this morning when Clyde Van Dusen, her trainer, had her out for a gallop over the distance of the race, which she accomplished under restraint in the satisfactory time of 1:14. She went the first quarter in :24, and the half-mile in :48. Even though she will be the top weight of the Futurity field, under H19 pounds, and must make allowance to all her opponents, Mata Hari, with her stable companion, Far Star, is expected to be favorite Saturday. She caught the fancy of Chicago racing enthusiasts by her clever victory in the Arlington Lassie Stakes several weeks ago. Far Star also was given her final trial for the Futurity this morning and accompanied by Spartan Lady, went six furlongs in 1:13, nicely in hand. The most speed exhibited by a Futurity candidate was uncovered by Mrs. John Hay Whitneys Singing Wood, which in all probability will be second choice in the Futurity wagering. He galloped three-quarters in 1:12, nicely, after doing the quarter in :22, and the half mile in :46. Mrs. Payne Whitneys Earnings, Twenty Grands half brother and running mate for First Minstrel, completed his Futurity training by working six furlongs in 1:14 and was accompanied by Black Buddy. The Greentree colt was under steady restraint as he did the quarter in :22 and the half in :46. Count Rae, probable partner of Hada-gal, as Warren Wrights Calumet Farm entry, went five furlongs in 1:02, easily, and Willis Sharpe Kilmers Sun Tempest was timed three-quarters in 1:14, quarter in :24, and half- in :48.
